6 Predictions Back to the Future Made for 2015 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads. Okay, yes we do. 2015 has been a year of buzz when it comes to Back to the Future Part II predictions. We've seen Pepsi bottles, Nike shoes and hoverboards that pay tribute to the popular trilogy. Of course no bold statements or predictions, such as the ones made by the movie, are good without a fact check. A sign proclaims that the Cubs have just won the 2015 World Series over Miami. After years and years of pretty miserable Cubs baseball, they weren't too far off. At this point it's not looking great for the Chicago Cubs, though. Currently trailing 3 0 to the New York Mets in the NLCS, the chances that the Cubs make it to the World Series are not good. However, the Cubs haven't made it this far into the postseason since 2003. It's not over yet for the Cubbies but they'll have to produce a pretty monumental comeback to stay true to this prediction. One prediction the movie did get right was that there would be a Miami team. The Miami/Florida Marlins were not a team when the movie was made. In the movie, the Cubs defeat Miami to win the World Series, but that's impossible today since both teams are in the National League. Jaws 19 is Released in 2015: Shortly after Marty discovers that the Cubbies are the World Series champs, he's nearly eaten alive by a vicious 3D shark, but the shark merely turns out to be a movie preview for everyone's favorite shark movie: Jaws. The movie predicts that by 2015, Jaws will still be so wildly popular that the movie is in its 19th rendition. We actually did get a sneak peak of the Jaws 19 trailer recently thanks to a good sense of humor from Universal Pictures. However, the movie never truly came into fruition as Jaws only spawned three more sequels, and none after Back to the Future Part II. That could be because Entertainment Weekly and the Raspberry Awards named Jaws: The Revenge to be one of the worst sequels ever made which is probably why Marty utters "The shark still looks fake." Video Calls: After arriving home from work, Marty receives a call from his pal Needles about a shady business deal. It's no ordinary call though, it's a video call. Shortly after the transaction goes down, Marty receives another video call, from his boss, to inform him that he's been fired after being Nike Hypervenom Phelon 3 monitored. This one is pretty close. In fact, we'll say they got it right. While video calling in front of your television still isn't exactly commonplace in 2015, it does happen, and the technology is there. Innovations such as Skype, FaceTime, Xbox Kinect, web cams, including televisions with built in web cams, have been here for a few years now. Making this prediction completely feasible.

Pepsi Perfect, the soda of the future: Upon entering the Nike Hypervenom Phelon III FG - Black/Silver/Orange ever so retro Caf 80's, Marty has his first official taste of the future when he drinks a vitamin enriched Pepsi Pefect. This is one of those gray areas: Yes. We now have elongated, cylindrical Pepsi bottles bearing the name "Pepsi Perfect." However, they were only announced earlier this month as a promotion for the movie and the 30th anniversary of the original Back to the Future. So unfortunately for Back to the Future fans, it wasn't a natural development. However, rival Coca Cola did develop a vitamin enriched soda known as Diet Coca Cola Plus. In 2015 hoverboards and the technology are, for all intents and purposes, real. In the past few years, to quite a bit of skepticism, we've seen companies such as Hendo and Lexus introduce them. In all actuality, the only 'hoverboards' in existence basically use magnets and must be above a metal surface, or use some sort of propulsion. Since 2008, Nike has released several replicas of the Nike MAG, mostly to raise money for charity. Nike has also filed several patent applications for powered or automatic laces. A Nike designer also stated near the beginning of 2015 that he hoped power laces would be a reality soon.
